Relaxation
April 20, 2008 by Kristina
John-Paul mentioned a few times recently that he thinks I need to take more time to relax… that I am always running around, on the go, doing something.
There may be some truth to that.
I think I have found my solution:
We bought this hammock with some gift cards we received for Christmas (I also received over $4 in rebates from Mr. Rebates by clicking there to get to the Lands End website).
Finally, after many months, the weather is nice enough to actually hang the hammock! Once I got past the “oh, my goodness, I am going to vomit from the motion,” it was amazing. Truly the most perfect place to spend an afternoon. Not that I got to spend an entire afternoon lying down, but I had at least a good solid half hour to myself just lying in the hammock listening to podcasts on my new iPod.
The kids, meanwhile, were doing this:

Okay. They were doing that. AND they were taking turns lying on the hammock with me. And once, for a little while, John-Paul and I were both on the hammock with the kids (I checked… our combined weight is within the weight limit).

I know this doesn’t seem much like a knitting blog anymore, but I actually have been knitting a bit here and there.
My son took these pictures. He said that he had to take a picture of me knitting so that I “could put it on the computer for everyone to see, so they could see how careful and good” I am with my knitting.
So. There you have it. I am careful and good.
As you can see from the second picture, I am actually making some progress with my Hourglass Sweater!
I have one sleeve completed and am currently about four inches into the second sleeve.
If I can figure out a way to knit while lying in the hammock, I should be able to pound out the rest of the sweater in no time.
Just in time for… summer ice skating. :)

That there is some fancy knitting! Are those four needles I see? WaWaWeeWow! And you’ve made oodles of money on your “Save money/Make money” counter! Well done!
Hooray for the hammock! Now you just need someone to fetch you something to drink every now and then. Think the kids will do it? :)
In that picture of the backyard I thought at first it was JP playing with the kids and then I realized it was little one. He looks like dad!
Maybe it’s the hat and the long legs.
