Wife. Mother. Knitter. Runner.

Okay…
I am 32 years old and live in Vermont with my husband of ten years, John-Paul, and our two children (a seven year old boy — AKA Rosie’s brother and a three-year-old girl — AKA Rosie).
I first taught myself to knit when I was pregnant with my son. I knit half of a dishcloth, got bored, and didn’t touch it again for four years. I picked up the yarn and the needles again in January 2005, quickly became obsessed and have not stopped knitting since.
“what else,” you ask?
I love to run, and am hoping to enter some races this year. You can read about my progress here.
I love to bake, and have been baking like crazy since we moved into our new house in September, 2007. I especially love baking healthy (or healthier) foods that taste just as yummy as the stuff that’s not so good for you (I don’t like feeling guilty about destroying other people’s attempts at eating well).
I am a vegan? Maybe not. I am. Sort of. I am allergic to dairy (true allergy, not lactose intolerance) and shellfish. I don’t like meat. Eggs gross me out. I eat vegan. But I also eat salmon. And honey. And chicken, if one of my Grandmothers cook it for me (it’s easier to eat it than try to get them to understand).
I also love to read, and was very excited when I found this site. Now, I can listen to some great books, while I knit and workout. Can it possibly get any better than being able to combine hobbies that you have such a passion for?
In the past, I have also painted, sketched, scrapbooked, sewed and quilted. I also started rug hooking last year, and it is perfect for when I am too stressed or tired to knit .
Oh, and I have a job as an RN, but I typically work around my husband’s crazy work schedule, so most of the time, I am home with my kids.
I also work hard on a daily basis to be more patient with my husband’s demanding job and crazy work schedule!!
For as long as I can remember, I have worked hard to be a good steward of my money. This year, I am working hard to become equally as good in my stewardship of our planet. I was once a “save the planet!” and “no testing on animals” sort-of person. I’m not sure why life took me away from that, but I am working hard and making a concerted effort to fulfill the ideals of my youth.

Beautiful and Easy Scarf Patterns. Had NO idea what to do with boucle yarn but now I do thanks to you. You are a very accomplished knitter. Kudos.
Hi, I am slowly getting addicted to knitting…have finished a sweater for my daughter and am now totally turned on to the ‘real yarn’ courtesy of some great stores here in Toronto. Thanks for this site -it’s inspiring. I’m going to try the ear flap hat for my son!
your blog is indeed inspiring and I enjoyed reading it. keep it up!! :)
I’m so happy to have found your blog! I love running and am just beginning to get into knitting. I’m kind of at that half washcloth stage you mentioned… but I’m trying to work past it!
