Hooray for some more time to yourself. That is crazy about the pollen! I guess that is the down side to all those beautiful trees you have in Vermont.

I do not envy you for the teenage years if your son is eating like that now. :)

You have every right to hate his job. That is natural. Are there any compromises that can be made? Maybe not church but a picnic? Or an afternoon service? Something where you can have what you crave but he can rest and relax?

Just wanted to say enjoy that time to yourself, not that I don't love my girls, but my time to myself seems to speed by all too quickly. Love that verse you shared yesterday. Off to clean more...fun!

*sigh* The only thing I am going to say is there is always going to be someone in a worse situation than you, I often take comfort in that when I am feeling sorry for myself. That said, you also have needs too and to swallow what you are feeling constantly is not healthy either. Have a crappy day, have a bad attitude, then move on. I just don't think you should disregard YOUR feelings is all I am saying, and I don't think your husband would want you to either. I think anyone in your situation would feel the same you are feeling - I often marvel at how well you keep stuff together.

Hope you are feeling better today.

Sometimes it does help to adjust our own expectations if there's no way to change the situation itself. You can only change your own reaction to it, which ultimately can have a chain reaction to changing other things, even if it doesn't change everything. I'm going to agree with the previous poster who said that marriage is hard work. I think it is for everyone, no matter how much we love our spouses or are perfect for each other. However, if you look at the situation as a whole, the good outweighs the bad, I'm sure - which is the way I try to look at things. Maybe this job won't last another 18 years either! In this day and age, everything is up for re-evaluation more often than we might think.

I'm sending you a big hug!!! It's tough and I think it's normal that you HATE his job and HATE feeling like you have to do thinks like a single parent. Please don't beat yourself up for the bad feelings you have - you are only human, after all. I do think it's great that you are going to work on not hating it all so much - because it's always better in the long run to learn how to make peace with a bad situation that you can't change. But it's okay to be mad about it sometimes. Hang in there!!

I understand what you're saying. I had to take my Bad Day post down when I finally got over my bad attitude. Actually talking to Peter about how I felt helped, but after I felt like such a brat. It's hard work to be married. People always told me that and now I get to find it out for myself. I just never guessed that the things that would be hard would have little to do with the person I was married to and more to do with the circumstances we would have to deal with together!

BTW, I also really appreciated your comment on that post. It was so comforting to know that someone else was having a "less-than" kind of Mother's Day. Misery loves company, I guess. :)

Somehow I don't think you could ever relax too much. :)
The socks turned out fantastic. The pattern is perfect for the yarn.
Funny. I wanted to go DOWN a needle size. :)
